Fable Dice ("the App") is a family storytelling game published by Fable Dice ("we", "us", "our"). We take your privacy seriously — especially because our app is designed for use by children and families.

What We Collect

Data we DO NOT collect:

• Names, email addresses, or account information — we don't have accounts
• Location data
• Photos, contacts, or any device data
• Browsing history or usage tracking
• Advertising identifiers
• Any personal information about children

Data we DO process:

• Story generation requests: When you tap "Tell Me a Story", the dice results (e.g. "Wizard", "Castle", "Golden Key") and selected age range (e.g. "5-8") are sent to our server to generate a story. These contain no personal information and are not stored after the story is generated.
• Device identifier: A random, anonymous identifier is used to manage your free trial period and daily story limits. This cannot be linked to your identity.
• Subscription status: If you subscribe, Google Play manages your payment. We verify your subscription status via Google Play but never see your payment details.

Data Stored on Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your phone only and is never sent to our servers:

• Saved favourite stories
• Sound and age preferences
• Trial start date
• Daily story count

You can delete all of this at any time by clearing the app's data in your phone's settings, or by uninstalling the app.

AI-Generated Stories

Stories are generated by Anthropic's Claude AI. When you request a story, the dice results and age range are sent to our server, which forwards them to Anthropic's API. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to their processing of these requests. No personal information is included in any story request.

Children's Privacy

Fable Dice is designed for use by children and families. We comply with the UK Age-Appropriate Design Code and the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the UK)
• The app does not require or encourage children to share personal information
• There are no social features, chat functions, or ways to contact other users
• The app is completely ad-free
• All content is age-appropriate and generated with child safety guardrails

Third-Party Services

• Anthropic (Claude AI): Generates stories. Receives dice results and age range only. No personal data.
• Google Play: Manages subscriptions and payments. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
• Vercel: Hosts our backend server. Subject to Vercel's privacy policy.

We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Data Retention

Story generation requests are processed in real-time and not stored on our servers. Device identifiers for trial management are stored for up to 30 days after the trial period ends, then automatically deleted. We do not maintain any long-term database of user activity.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR and other applicable laws, you have the right to:

• Request access to any data we hold about you (we hold almost none)
• Request deletion of any data (clearing app data achieves this)
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
